The Refuge Medical Small Unit Tactics class is an in-field experience where students will self-sustain via their rucksacks for a period of 48 hours. We strongly encourage but do not require that students bring a rifle in 5.56x45mm and minimum of (3) 30-round magazines; your rifle should be able to accept a “Hollywood”-style blank firing adapter, which Refuge Cadre will provide. If your rifle is pinned/welded and/or has a proprietary muzzle device, you will be responsible for providing your own blank firing adapter; blanks will be provided by Refuge and are included in the cost of the class.
Students will be instructed by a Cadre of professional instructors with backgrounds ranging from Special Operations Forces to Law Enforcement and Public Safety. This class is taught in the field on 14,000 private acres of trees, grass, and water in the vicinity of Spiro, Oklahoma.
